Thoughts For The Day

I've been cleaning all day. ALLLLLLLL DAY! Well, I 've been cleaning in between feedings and wakeup/play times with my little smiley, that is! Yes, he is smiling and I LUV IT! Anyway, lots of thoughts have been going through my head today as I have scrubbed and folded and cleaned away!

1. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. I take that to heart.

2. I WANT a pedicure... bad. (Said while stomping and grunting like Jill!) It's been two months and my feet are suffering. And today I decided that if that's the only thing I can come up with to complain about I'm doing pretty good!

3. I love feta cheese. Couldn't eat it while I was pregnant. I love it so much I could eat it by the spoonful... and today I kinda did.

4. I have said in the past, and I hear others say this quite frequently that they love kids but they also love "to give them back." Meaning, they love playing with kids and taking care of them but at the end of the day they are glad these children have parents who are ultimately responsible for them. It dawned on me today that when you are a parent you are more than happy to take them back!

5. My husband can make something out of absolutely nothing. I will stare in the refrigerator and the cabinets and I'm like, "Okay, let's just order pizza tonight." John will then come in and make a gourmet meal out of salt and pepper. I am very thankful for that but I wish I had that ability. He can do the same thing with clothing. The other day I could not find anything to wear and he came in and put together a fabulous outfit for me. That is pretty good for a woman who is post-pregnancy and can't fit in to anything in her closet and is SICK OF her maternity clothes. And yes, this is the same husband who wears cowboy boots and lives for hunting. I have decided that I am lucky he has these qualities, although I have to admit I am also a bit jealous!

6. I think Blockbuster was invented for parents of infants. Those who can't go out to a movie but desperately need to relax and spend a couple of hours in a far off fantasy land, in the cozy comfort of there home with their newborn baby!

7. After I published this post I read it and realized that I posted twice about how bad I wanted a pedicure... which proves to me that I REALLY should go get one soon!

That's about it! I know you care way more about pics of Brooks and way less about my thoughts - so I promise I'll post pics of Smiley soon!

Jealousy Much!?

John and I are not the only ones in our household adjusting to the many changes a new baby brings. Our poor, poor puppy Cache (pronounced Cash) has been thrown to the wolves. Well, that may be a bit dramatic. He just lives outside now. Every once in a while we we let him in, just as a little treat. Lately he would not eat or drink his water in his pen. He would only eat and drink in our house with John watching him while he ate. Weird, I know. Anyway, the point is... before little man's arrival, Cache got a lot of attention. Now, well, he doesn't. John tries to get outside with him and train him, play with him and I try and pet him every once in a while but with a 6 week old consuming all of our energy and time, it's just a reality that he does not get near as much attention as he used to!

So, yesterday I was on the phone and I looked over and saw this...

Yes, I'd say he is a bit jealous. I still can't believe how he had it in his mouth just like a baby does. John and I laughed sooooooooooo hard! So, this evening I celebrated my ability to work out again and took the poor guy running!

Happy Birthday, Mamommy!

Brooks wants to tell his Mamommy Happy Birthday today! We made a video but it won't upload. (Help, Suz!?)

On Mamommy's Birthday, Brooks wants to let you know the top ten reasons why his Mamommy is the BEST:

1. There's never a time when she doesn't want to hold me, feed me, cuddle me, love me, rock me, sing to me and take the best care of me.

2. You would think with five grandchildren that she would get tired of us after a while. But she doesn't. She's got plenty of love to go around... it's amazing!

3. She buys me all sorts of things, I really like her shopping habit! And, she's so pretty, I just love to look at her!

4. Mommy and I think its funny how she always keeps daddy in line... she doesn't let him get away with anything!

5. Mamommy has four kids, so she knows what she's doing. My mom, well, I'm her first so it's good to know someone with a little bit of experience.

6. Mamommy has the kindest heart of anyone I know... her and Grandaddy are quite the pair!

7. She always knows just the song to sing to me to make me fall asleep... and she has such a pretty voice!

8. She loves me because I'm her first grandson... I know she loves everyone else too just the same, but let's face it, I'm pretty special!

9. She's a great cook... one day that will benefit me greatly!

10. She is a good role model mom for my mommy, I hope my mommy can be like her!

Happy Birthday!

Story of my life... why I can never finish a blog!

I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first. I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only one check left. My extr a checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking. I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over. The Coke is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need water. I put the Coke on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table.I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day: the car isn't washed, the bills aren't paid, there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter, the flowers don't have enough water, there is still only 1 check in my check book, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses, and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day, and I'm really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail....
